Resolved Question: Can I get into UC Berkeley?

7 February 2012, 6:29 pm

I'm getting really worried about my standing for UCs, especially Berkeley since that's where I've been wanting to attend for a very long time. In your opinion (preferably those that specialize in these sorts of things), do you think I can make it? Grades: I am currently in my junior year and my unweighted GPA until the second semester of my junior year is 3.58 and my weighted is I believe around 3.9. BUT I did get one C+ and one B this semester, which I know is terrible for a junior. So this is what's making me very worried. Extra-curricular: This is what I'll be most likely in my senior year: I am going to be the Secretary-General of my school's Model United Nations program, I am going to be president of the National Honor Society (hopefully). And I am going to be president of World Vision. In addition, I'll probably have other roles in clubs such as Key Club where I'll be either vice-president or treasurer/secretary. And be either secretary or Director of Activities in California Scholarship Federation. Currently as a junior: Delegate Affairs Officer for MUN (kind of like an officer for our MUN program), treasurer for World Vision. SAT: Haven't taken it yet but if I was to do a very low estimate, around 1900-2000. But a higher estimate, around 2000-2100. Contests: I've won a few contests like second place post level for Voice of Democracy Contest getting 75 dollars two years in a row, first place in my city's local writing contest, and a topical winner for this poetry contest. Volunteer: I have by now probably 400 plus hours and still going up. Thank you so much for your help! I know I'm being paranoid, but I'm just really worried right now. Please be TRUTHFUL. Thank you! Also, I forgot to add that I have won awards at almost all my conferences for MUN like at UCLA, UC Davis, UCI, and many high school conferences. And I want to major in Political Science. :)...
